The Altona Curling Club received a financial shot in the arm this week for it’s ice plant replacement project, as the Richardson Foundation presented a 20,000 dollar cheque. The event was attended by the 2014-2015 Junior League champions, Erin Schellenberg, Gavin Penner, Konner Friesen, and Evan Schmidt, along with Junior curler Piper Stoesz, 2015 Girls High School Zone winner, Anastasia Ginters, and Altona Mayor Mel Klassen. Representing Richardson International were Tracey Hunter, Jordan Wieler, and James Borgford who presented the donation to Altona Curling Club President Keith Stoesz. The presentation included a tour by Facilities Manager Terry Peters. Work on the 180 thousand dollar replacement is expected to be completed in time for the 2016 season.
